Canon EOS R5

The EOS R5 is the backbone of our photography workflow. Its 45-megapixel full-frame sensor delivers images with extraordinary detail – detail that holds through aggressive cropping, large-format prints, and album spreads. The in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) is a game-changer during candid coverage, allowing us to handhold in situations where a tripod would be intrusive. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II tracks subjects with a reliability that was simply unimaginable a decade ago. For any wedding photographer working at a professional level, this camera sets the benchmark.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II

Speed and reliability define the R6 Mark II. With up to 40 frames per second in electronic shutter mode and a subject detection system that covers people, animals, and vehicles, it is particularly suited to high-energy moments – the baraat, the vidaai, the first dance. Its exceptional low-light performance means this camera is equally at home during late-evening receptions and outdoor night functions. We carry this body as a dedicated second shooter system and as insurance against any primary camera issue on the day. 

Canon EOS C70 (Cinema EOS)

For wedding films, we work with the Canon Cinema EOS C70. The difference between a consumer video camera and a cinema camera is immediately visible in the final film – and our clients feel it. The C70 shoots in Canon Log 2, giving us extraordinary latitude in colour grading that produces the rich, cinematic look our films are known for. Its Dual Gain Output sensor manages the transition between dark and bright environments with minimal noise, which is critical during ceremonies held across multiple lighting zones. Combined with its compact form factor, the C70 allows us to capture documentary-style footage without becoming an intrusive presence.

Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM

This is arguably the most versatile professional zoom lens Canon has ever made. A constant f/2 aperture across the full zoom range means consistent, beautiful background separation whether you are shooting wide during group portraits or zoomed in on an emotional exchange. The focal range covers everything from intimate environmental portraits to small group coverage in a single lens. On the RF system, this lens is in a class of its own. 

Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM

Our primary portrait lens. The 85mm f/1.2 produces a quality of background blur – bokeh – that has a painterly, almost three-dimensional quality that clients recognise the moment they see their portraits. At f/1.2, it separates subjects from even busy, cluttered backgrounds with stunning elegance. We reach for this lens during bridal portraits, couple sessions, and the quieter, more intimate moments of a wedding day. The rendering of skin tones through this lens, combined with Canon’s colour science, is exceptional.

Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS USM

Telephoto coverage is non-negotiable in wedding photography. During ceremonies, photographers must often work at a distance to avoid disrupting proceedings. This lens allows us to capture tight, emotive frames from across a mandap or aisle without ever intruding on the moment. The image stabilisation ensures razor-sharp results even when handholding at slower shutter speeds in low-light ceremony environments. It is one of the most used lenses in our kit on every single wedding day.

Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM

Wide-angle coverage for grand venue establishing shots, large group photographs, and the kind of dramatic environmental imagery that sets the scene in a wedding album. This lens handles large gatherings at reception venues, sweeping architectural frames, and behind-the-scenes documentary coverage that adds depth and context to a wedding story. 

Canon RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM

The 50mm focal length is often described as closest to the natural field of view of the human eye – which makes it the documentary photographer’s most instinctive tool. We use it extensively during candid coverage: the chaos of getting ready, the unscripted conversations, the stolen glances. Wide open at f/1.2, it renders available light beautifully even in dim indoor environments. 

The Supporting Ecosystem – Lights, Stabilisers & Audio

Exceptional images and films are rarely made by cameras and lenses alone. Our full production kit includes tools that are equally essential to the final result.

For lighting, we rely on a combination of Profoto portable strobes for controlled lighting scenarios – particularly during bridal portraits and post-ceremony couple sessions – and continuous LED panels for ambient fill during video coverage. Natural light is always our preference, but Bangalore’s diverse venue portfolio means we must be fully equipped to create beautiful light when the environment doesn’t provide it.

Our cinema workflow incorporates DJI RS gimbal stabilisers for smooth, flowing footage that elevates the cinematic quality of our wedding films. Combined with a selection of prime cine lenses, the resulting footage has a visual language distinct from typical event videography. For audio – often the most neglected element of a wedding film – we deploy a combination of Rode wireless lavalier microphones and directional shotgun mics to capture ceremony audio, vows, and speeches with clarity.
