A Perfect Wedding Venue.
Location: Taj Westend is located pretty centrally in Bangalore, near race course road. Yes the access roads have traffic and lots of it in peak hours, but that is true of Bangalore in every place 🙂
What makes it brilliant as a wedding venue:
- Luxury and how. When you want to host a wedding in a luxurious setting in central Bangalore, there may not be an option better than Taj westend.
- Well its a Taj property. Well appointed, well manicured, well taken care of. So if you have the permissions to shoot in various areas, which we suggest you should take, then we have an abundance of areas to shoot in.
- Multiple areas to shoot. There are lawns, trees, nooks and pavilions where can find a variety of shots in various spots in the property
- Lush open areas with greenspaces. And not just green spaces, there is a lot of tree cover as well, in case you want some shots in peak daylight when light is harsh.
- Old Bungalow look lends a great contrast. And this is something we don’t see often in hotels. The old world charm retained in its entirety. Which adds a definite edge of regality to the setting.
- Options for a rainy day as well. There is a big ballroom which hosts many events and there is a new events pavilion as well.
The Various areas in Taj Westend, including my favorite ones:
- Price of Wales lawns: This seems like a forest in the city. The beautiful lawn is surrounded by trees and lush greens and can easily host a wedding of 750+ people.
- The approach to Prince of Wales: Which has many green lanes and nooks for a lovely photo-up
- Ballroom : This can again host more than 500+ guests and is ideal for parties which go on late or performances with loud music.
- Westend Court : This is a large Pavilion designed specifically to cater to events during rain and which require a much taller ceiling. The westend court is separated from the main hotel area where rooms are so there is not disturbance to either and your wedding guests can enjoy wedding in an isolated bubble.
- Pool side gazebo : This is a lovely area in the middle of the property for smaller events of 100-150 people. The gazebo offers partial cover and the pool side provides for a calm and colourful backdrop.
- Pond garden : This is the small garden with a cute pond immediately on the left as you enter the property. This is also ideal for events which are of 150 strength or lesser. This is also a fabulous area for doing pre-wedding portraits without disturbing any of the room guests.

Taj Westend wedding planning tips:
- Drones are not allowed here as a standard practice across all 5 star hotels in India
- Loud music is not allowed anywhere except the ballroom
- Prior permission is required for couple portraits. Do inform the hotel in advance.
- The reason people are so keen on Taj Westend is because of the lush green outdoors. My sincere suggestion is to plan for an outdoor event. The hotel can plan for contingencies, but the quality of outdoor look for photographs is unmatched for the vibrant Indian weddings.
